HERE IS YOUR FIRST FREE KNITTING PATTERN TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL KNITTING WEEK

Get in touch with your inner diva and take a twirl in these gorgeous slippers. Modelled on the classic, elegant shape of ballet shoes, they’re perfect for blissing out in your boudoir, or just hanging out at home. This project has been taken from KNITTED SOCK SENSATIONS by Louise Butt and Kirstie McLoed.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR SLIPPERS
MEASUREMENTS:
Small [Medium: Large]
MATERIALS:
1 x 3½oz (100g) ball of light-weight (DK) acrylic yarn in
bright pink
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS:
1 pair of size 6 (4mm) needles
1 size G6 (4.00mm) crochet hook
Artificial flower petals
Contrasting bead for centre of flower
GAUGE
22 sts and 30 rows to 4in (10cm) square measured over st st using size 6 (4mm) needles

Knit your slippers…
(Make 2)
SOLE
Cast on 12 [12: 14] sts using size 6 (4mm) needles.
Row 1 K.
Row 2 P1, pfb, k8 [8: 10], pfb, p1. 14 [14: 16] sts.
Row 3 K.
Row 4 P1, pfb, k10 [10: 12], pfb, p1. 16 [16: 18] sts.
Row 5 K.
Row 6 P1, pfb, k12 [12: 14], pfb, p1. 18 [18: 20] sts.**
Work 53 [55: 57] rows in st st.
Next row P1, p2tog, k10 [12: 14], p2tog tbl, p1. 16 [16: 18] sts.
Next row K.
Next row P1, p2tog, k8 [10: 12], p2tog tbl, p1. 14 [14: 16] sts.
Next row K.
Next row P1, p2tog, k6 [8: 10], p2tog tbl, p1. 12 [12: 14] sts.
Next row K.
Bind off.

TOP OF SLIPPER
Work as for sole to **.
Work 18 rows in st st.
Next row K8 [8: 9] sts, bind off 2 sts, k8 [8: 9] sts. 16 [16: 18] sts.
Next row Working on first 8 [8: 9] sts only, p.
Next row K2tog tbl, k to end.
7 [7: 8] sts.
Next row P.
Next row K2tog tbl, k to end.
6 [6: 7] sts.
Next row P.
Work 10 [10: 12] rows in st st ending on P row.
Next row K1, m1, k5 [5: 6] sts.
7 [7: 8] sts.
Work 7 rows in st st.
Next row K1, m1, k6 [6: 7] sts. 8
[8: 9] sts.
Work 9 rows in st st.
Next row K1, m1, k7 [7: 8] sts.

Next row P.
Bind off.
Rejoin yarn to rem sts and rep for other side, reversing shapings.
Add the petals of an artificial flower to the slipper and secure in place with a contrasting bead.
MAKING UP
With right sides facing, join sole to top of foot.
CROCHET EDGING
With size G6 (4.00mm) crochet hook, work a round of single crochet in a number divisible by 4.
Next round Chain 1, work 2 sc into next 2 sts, *miss 1 st, work 3 sc, rep from * to end. Fasten off.

Yeah knitting week is cool. I went into my fav wool shop yesterday to buy the wool to make these. I will be uploading another free pattern today x
